Kinder Program

Little Learners offers a government approved 4-5 year-old Kindergarten Program, which is delivered by our experienced Bachelor Qualified Teacher. Our Kindergarten teacher is assisted by qualified early childhood educators.

Our Kindergarten program runs from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Children must attend Kindergarten at least 15 hours per week, which can be achieved at Little Learners over 2 full days.

Our Kindergarten program also includes a comprehensive School Readiness Program. Each child is observed and planned for, and their needs addressed, in order to prepare each child for school.

School Readiness Program

Our Kindergarten children will be involved in a comprehensive ‘School Readiness Program’. This program focuses on getting each child ready for school & life. A few of the School Readiness Programs special features include:

  • A "Welcome Group Time/ Roll call" each day that welcomes the children to the room and informs them of activities that are planned for the day
  • Involvement in Pre-math Concepts such as measuring, volume, combining ingredients, trial & error approach, clock-work & time concepts, counting, pattern prediction & sequence and basic addition & subtraction
  • Pre-Literacy Learning including visual print, rhyme, phonics, blending sounds, comprehension and hand writing skills including writing own name & printing letters of the alphabet
  • “Show and Tell” - Children will have the opportunity to bring something in to share with their Kinder group regularly; helping them to develop their confidence & communication skills
  • Self help/care skills - We strive for each child to be able to dress/undress unaided, apply sunscreen independently, use tongs to serve their own food, pack away after an activity, begin to tie laces & complete knots
  • In Term 4, a lunch-box program occurs. This enables the children to practice a lunch routine similar to school, whilst being supported by our Educators
  • Children will go on an excursion to a local school in Term 4, to enable them to begin familiarising themselves with a school classroom and the school playground environment
  • Children will be involved in organised incursions throughout the year, including:
    â—‹ Healthy Teeth Program
    â—‹ Dog Safety
    â—‹ Road Safety
    â—‹ Music & Movement
    â—‹ Cooking & Science
    â—‹ Library Book Borrow System
â—‹ Horticulture & Sustainability, including an organised excursion to a Broccoli Farm
